Miracle 42

A warm welcome to all you beautiful people. Thank you for joining me in this new chapter of my life called Ria 2.0 as I navigate my way through this long covid recovery into my 42nd year, "Miracle 42". The beginning of my birthday month also marks 1 year of my rebirth as Ria 2.0. Last Year on November 22, 2021 I celebrated my 41st birthday sick with covid. By November 26th I was admitted to the hospital with Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)and covid pneumonia, by December 2nd I was intubated and placed in a medically induced coma and I began the biggest fight of my life. While surrounded by the doctors and nurses I expressed my fear of not surviving and pleaded they not let me die cause I needed to go back to my children before Christmas. Last thing I can remember is Dr. Blair holding my hand acknowledging my fear and promising to do all she can to keep me alive. I spent the next 5+ weeks in ICU. On December 22nd I was extubated but due to distress (probably fighting to be with Gabe and Rosie) my respiratory status began failing again and a decision was made on December 23rd to reinsert the breathing tube and place me back on the ventilator and my dad was told I had a 50/50 chance cf survival. On Christmas Day it was discovered that I suffered 3 strokes. On January 8th 2022 as Tameng took her last breath at 99 years old I took my first breath as Ria 2.0--
